International Education Stream – Career Employment Pathway

The new International Education Stream (IES) for Manitoba graduates is dedicated to providing international students graduating in Manitoba and meeting the needs of industry faster pathways to nomination.

The Career Employment Pathway provides faster nomination pathways for post-secondary students who graduate and find long-term employment in Manitoba in an in-demand occupation consistent with their training. If you meet these conditions, you will be eligible to apply to the MPNP immediately after graduating and obtaining the job offer.

To qualify for this sub-category, you must:

  • have graduated in the past 3 years from a designated post-secondary institution in Manitoba (minimum one year, two semesters, full-time coursework)
  • Minimum CLB/NCLC 7 (or equivalent)
  • have a full-time job offer from an eligible Manitoba employer, with a minimum 1-year contract on Manitoba’s published ⦁ In-Demand Occupations list that is consistent with your completed program of studies in Manitoba. You must be working full-time in MB at the time your application is assessed
  • You must demonstrate liquid funds equivalent to Low Income Cut-Off (LICO) requirements for independent financial resources for a six-month period

OR

You must be employed in a full-time, long-term position in Manitoba

  • be residing in Manitoba at the time of application.
  • show the intent to continue to reside in Manitoba after nomination, including the submission of a Career Employment Plan demonstrating opportunities for a successful career track in Manitoba.

The Skilled Workers in Manitoba Stream

The Skilled Workers Stream is locally driven and based on the needs of Manitoba employers. We select internationally trained and experienced workers who have the skills needed in the local labour market, and nominate them to receive Canadian permanent resident visas to settle and work in Manitoba.

The Skilled Workers in Manitoba pathway nominates applicants who have a strong connection to our province through ongoing employment and sufficient skills, education and training, work experience and official language proficiency to make an immediate and ongoing contribution to the Manitoba economy and our community at large.

Temporary Foreign Workers
To qualify for this sub-category, you must:

  • have the offer of long-term employment, which must be from the same employer for whom you have been working full-time for the required time period
  • have all qualifications for the position including training/education and any required licence or certification
  • have job-ready English; specifically you must demonstrate the English or French proficiency to fulfill the duties of your job description
  • your connection to Manitoba through employment must be stronger than ties you may have to another province
  • demonstrate in a Settlement Plan your intention and plan to live, work and establish your work and family life in Manitoba as a permanent resident

International Student Working Graduates
To qualify for this sub-category, you must:

  • attended an authorized education or training program at a public, or registered private vocational, post-secondary institution in Manitoba
  • your academic/vocational program was full-time and at least one academic year in duration
  • successfully completed your program and were awarded a diploma, degree or certificate
  • have been continuously working at least six months for the same employer who has offered you a permanent (long-term) full-time job
  • have a valid post-graduation work permit
  • your connection to Manitoba through employment is stronger than ties you may have to another Canadian province
  • demonstrate in a Settlement Plan your intention and plan to live, work and establish your work and family life in Manitoba as a permanent resident
  • have all qualifications and the English or French language proficiency to fulfill the duties of your job
